Todd Higginbotham started coaching in the fall of 2004, as most coaches do, “out of the necessity” to help as a volunteer with his daughters in the sport of volleyball, for 2 years with Charleston Volleyball Club and 2 years with Winfield Travel Club. Little did he know the path that his life was going to take and the young lives that he was going to shape and mold, through the years to come. Todd has been coaching girls volleyball for a total of 13 years at the high school and middle school level, 5 years with Winfield High School and 8 years with Winfield Middle School. As Todd started realizing the need for another travel club in the area he also started up Putnam Volleyball Club 8 years ago, as the club directer he has proven that he can be very successful with putting great coaches in the club to produce very successful travel teams.
On September 13th, 2016 Coach Todd reach a great milestone in his Prep Sports coaching career. On that night against Point Pleasant Middle School he coach his team (Winfield Middle School) to his 100th Varsity Victory. An achievement that most coaches only dream about in Prep Sports, Todd achieved in just 13 short years.
So from all players, parents, coaches, family and others throughout the volleyball community that have had the pleasure to be apart of this great milestone, we would like to give a big Congratulation to Coach Todd Higginbotham for his 100th win. It’s a much deserved achievement! We also, hope that there will be many more to come.

“Todd is the most important man in our life, he loves our 6 girls with all he has. We all give him our support in doing something he loves to do. Sometimes being the coaches wife is hard, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. To see the excitement each new season brings is the most wonderful feeling ever. Seeing the impact that he leaves on each kid that he coaches is such a blessing, and very humbling for me. Congratulations on your 100th win!!” ~ Angie Higginbotham (Wife and #1 Fan)

“Todd has been with me since the very beginning of my volleyball career and has guided me through more than just playing. He has taught me the beginnings of the sport I love, but also taught me the necessary tools to be an effective, caring coach. He is more than a coach, he is a motivator and an inspirer. Congrats on the 100th win Todd. You more than deserve it!” ~ Jessy Gooch
“Todd teaches more than his athletes the skills of volleyball, leadership and life lessons. No matter your age you can’t help but learn from him if you are around him very long. Thank you for what you have taught me and others. Thank you for teaching and loving my daughter. This achievement that you have reached is much deserved, congratulations! I hope there are many more years to come!” ~ Clint Baker
“I met Todd on a Volleyball court years ago at one of my kids games. I could instantly see his love for the kids and the games. I have had the opportunity to work for him and with him on the court. The 100 wins is a great milestone but it’s not about the wins. It’s about the 100’s of kids that he has helped learn about volleyball, hard work and how to compete on the court and in life. His heart is in the right place and that’s always a win. Thank You for the opportunities that you have give me, my children and the community.” ~ Ted Kinder
“I was blessed to play on the first ever team Todd coached. At that time, we were all learning volleyball together. He taught me one of the most important and valuable lessons in life: to do it all with heart. I played with heart, I cheered on the bench when I got injured with heart, and now I coach with my heart. My whole heart. I’ve had coaches of all sorts, and I’ve noticed that the teams that I played for that were successful were led by coaches that had a heart for their players. No coach has ever cared more for his players than Todd. I always new he wanted the best for all of us. And because he cares, not just about winning, but for the well being and the progression of his players on and off the court, he is one of the most successful coaches in the state. I love you, Todd!” ~ Nicole Atkinson
“Congrats to not only my stepdad, but someone who has been there to coach me and support me for more than half of my life. Thank you for letting me be a coach and teaching me what a great coach is supposed to look like. I aspire to be half of the coach you are today. Congrats on having a record of 100-26. That’s extremely impressive and I am so proud of you! I love you!” ~ Kristen Parrigan
“Todd Higginbotham is the reason I play volleyball. He has encouraged me and given me the confidence to keep playing. He is more than a coach. Coaches from other states have even asked if I was his daughter. When I had knee surgery in April, he was right there even though he had worked all night. That’s not your average coach. I can always depend on Todd to give it to me straight and I know that he has my best interests at heart.” ~ Cassie Workman
