Part 5 Blocking, Fundamentals Are Still Key!

Blocking, Where defense starts! There’s no better feeling than when a blocker executes a block to perfection and block the ball back across the net for points. The feeling of “NOT IN MY HOUSE!”

First the Basics. Again, Good defense in volleyball starts with blocking. In this youth volleyball video, a girls’ coach breaks down the proper technique for blocking and these key volleyball skills are then demonstrated.

Part 3 Passing, Fundamentals Are Still Key!

The second most important skill in volleyball is passing or serve receive. If you can’t get a good pass to target (the setter), more than likely you won’t get a good set to the hitter.

The first video is by Coach Donnie, he will show you the fundamentals of passing a volleyball with details about an effective ready position, platform, and passing motion.

The second video is, USA Volleyball Coach Terry Liskevych has coached for over 40 years – winning a Bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games and a Gold medal at the FIVB World Prix in 1995. In this Coaching Tip episode, he shows us the fundamentals of Receiving and Passing in Volleyball. Don’t you want to know where the “Sweet Spot” is?

Finally, Coach Donnie will show you the 3 basic types of footwork. This volleyball instructional video will teach you when to apply which types of footwork, provide in-game examples, and how to practice them.

Part 2 Serving, Fundamentals Are Still Key!

Now let’s get talking about the fundamentals of serving. This is an area that can win or lose matches. Most often the best serving and passing team wins.

The first video is, Legendary USA Volleyball Coach Terry Liskevych coached the National Team for over a decade and won a Bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games. In this Coaching Tip series, he demonstrates various serves in Volleyball. Peter shows us the proper way to hit a “floater”, get the most “topspin”, and how to slam a “jumper.”.
